5 things I wish people knew about Birth

1.You can set your birth up for success!

Birth doesn’t have to a be dreaded experience.

Believe it or not, You’ve been “training” for this your whole life.

Culture, Hollywood, the stories of other peoples birth experiences will deeply influence your beliefs and expectations about birth, whether you like it or not.

2.Pain is not mandatory

You can learn how to cope with labor discomforts and the challenges ahead of time.

3.Birth trauma is real

You can create a inner sense and outer  safety for the things you can control and what you CANNOT control  ahead of time. If things don’t go as planned, you didn’t do anything wrong!

4.You don’t have to go it alone!

Continuous support - reassurance, physical comfort measures, advocacy from your partner and/or doula can help you have  a happier birth experience, (eg: birth with dignity & less likely to feel negative about your birth)

5.You can trust that you are doing the best you can- you can show up to birth with calm and power!

Too many parents have been led to believe that there is nothing to be done to set yourself up for an empowered birth and a positive postpartum experience.

I want you to know it’s simply not true that nothing can be done!

This is why I am passionate about helping women—
